KEN ROBOTECH’s Pursuit of SDGs

We support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We believe that each of the SDGs goals is very compatible with the “labor-saving solution” that KEN ROBOTECH has been originally developing and providing. We will continue to develop labor-saving robot solutions that contribute to society, create sustainable value in all corporate activities, and strive to contribute to resolving social issues including SDGs.

*Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (the 2030 Agenda) is a set of international development goals from 2016 to 2030, which was adopted by the UN Sustainable Development Summit held in September 2015. It consists of 17 goals and 169 targets in order to realize a sustainable and better world. The SDGs are universal goals applicable, not only to developing countries but also developed countries, and pledge “Leave no one behind.” Japan makes utmost efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda.

1. No poverty

1.1 By 2030, eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere, currently measured as people living on less than $1.25 a day.

By utilizing our robots, it is possible to work at a construction site without specialized skills. As a result, we can provide employment opportunities to a wide range of people.
5. Gender equality

5.b Enhance the use of enabling technology, in particular information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women.

Women will be able to perform heavy-duty work by utilizing our robots. We will contribute to an "expansion of female employment opportunities" at the construction site.
6. Clean water and sanitation

6.3 By 2030, improve water quality by reducing pollution, eliminating dumping and minimizing release of hazardous chemicals and materials, halving the proportion of untreated wastewater and substantially increasing recycling and safe reuse globally.

REBAR TYING TOMOROBO© and LARGE DIAMETER TYING TOMOROBO© are powered by electricity. Our products do not use fossil fuels and do not emit harmful exhaust gas. We will lead a healthy construction industry that does not emit harmful substances.
8. Decent work and economic growth

8.5 By 2030, achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men, including for young people and persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value.

With remotely operated robots, it is possible to entrust responsible work at the construction site to persons with disabilities and those who wish to work from home. Our products will contribute to create and expand a place for people who could not be involved in the construction industry until now.

8.8 Protect labor rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment.

By collaborating with humans and robots, we can increase the productivity of "poor workers (working poor people)" including foreign workers who work at construction sites in the world. Our products enable both "increasing income” and "working in a better working environment".
12. Responsible consumption, production

12.5 By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.

We will reduce waste such as plastic bottles, glass bottles, cans, etc. inside our company and make every effort to reuse them. In addition, paper other than important documents will be reused as note paper. Used postage stamps and plastic bottle caps will be collected and redeemed for use in social contribution activities.
